Veterinary Technician Boards

The Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) will be closing the window for technicians that have received on the job training to be eligible to sit for the National and State Board Exam by the end of 2010. Veterinary Team Education Courses is offering a seven lecture review series in preparation for the National and State Veterinary Technician Boards. Classes will be held on the following dates:

7-9:30pm, Tue, October 13: Triage/Arizona Diseases/ Wound Care
7-9:30pm, Tue, October 27: Gastrointestinal System/Parasitology
7-9:30pm, Tue, November 10: Clinical Pathology I
7-9:30pm, Tue, November 24: Clinical Pathology II
7-9:30pm, Tue, December 15: Fluids/Pharmacology
7-9:30pm, Mon, January 4: Exotics
- 6-10:00pm, Tue, January 12: Cumulative Review
Our speaker is Andrew J. Rosenfeld, DVM, Diplomate ABVP has been practicing small animal critical care and internal medicine for 17 years and is a member of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Dr. Rosenfeld also has been an adjunct professor at Mesa Community College and Arizona State University. All courses will be solely taught by Dr. Rosenfeld or Dr. Funk (Mesa Veterinary Hospital). The Cost of the program is $200 before August 31, 2009 or $225 on or after August 31, 2009 (registration fee includes textbook, The Veterinary Medical Handbook, notes and review questions.)
The Veterinary Medical Team Handbook is designed as a training resource for veterinarians, technicians and staff. Coverage ranges from administrative tasks and client communication to common diseases, disorders and procedures. The aim is to increase the staff's ability to detect and manage health problems and to enable the team to be more effective communicators with each other and with clients. Two accompanying CD-ROMs contain training modules and interactive case studies for further learning and practice.
