Andrew J. Rosenfeld, DVM, ABVP |
|
|
Dr. Rosenfeld is the founder and
president of VTEC and has spoken on numerous occasions on
topics in Emergency Medicine, Small Animal Anatomy and
Physiology, and Cardiology. Dr. Rosenfeld was Director of
Technical Education for the Pet’s Choice family of
veterinary hospitals and specialty practices. He has
practiced small animal critical care and emergency medicine
for 14 years, and served as hospital director of Paradise
Valley Emergency Animal Clinic in Scottsdale for three
years. Dr. Rosenfeld is a member of the American Board of
Veterinary Practitioners and was an adjunct professor at
Mesa Community College and Arizona State University. Dr.
Rosenfeld is currently writing The Veterinary Medical Team
Handbook, a reference and resource manual for the medical
team, (Blackwell Press – 2006). |

Victoria M. Lukasik, DVM, DACVA |
|
|
Dr. Lukasik received her DVM from
Washington State University. She practiced one year in
Kentucky in an equine neonatal ICU. Following this
appointment, Dr. Lukasik practiced three years in the small
animal ICU, before continuing on at Cornell for anesthesia
residency. After getting tired of being cold, Dr. Lukasik
moved to Tucson where she operates a mobile veterinary
anesthesia practice, Southwest Veterinary Anesthesiology, and
is part of the Anesthesiology faculty at the University of
Arizona College of Medicine. |

Curt Coffman, DVM |
|
|
Dr. Coffman received his Doctor
of Veterinary Medicine from University of Missouri in 1993.
Dr. Coffman then practiced small animal medicine in Phoenix
Arizona and was part owner in Countryside Animal Hospital in
Tempe, Az. Dr. Coffman is working towards board certification
with the guidance of Dr. Chris Visser. |

Sharon M. Dial, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVP |
|
|
Dr. Dial received a bachelor’s
degree in Microbiology from the Montana State University. She
then received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Doctorate
in Pathology from Colorado State University. Dr. Dial has been
both a working pathologist as well as an active instructor at
University of Wisconsin and Louisiana State University. She
also has been a clinical pathologist for Animal Diagnostic Lab
in Tucson, Ariz., and Antech Diagnostics. Dr. Dial is
currently an Associate Research Scientist, Department of
Veterinary Science and Microbiology at University of Arizona. |

Dr. Wayne Schwark,
DVM PhD |
|
|
Dr Schwark is a Professor of
Pharmacology, Department of Molecular Medicine Cornell
University. Dr. Schwark received his DVM at Ontario Veterinary
College, and went on to further studies on pharmacology for
Master of Science in Pharmacology at University of Guelph, and
a Ph.D. in pharmacology at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa,
Ontario. Dr. Schwark is three time winner of the Norden
Distinguished Teacher Award, Cornell University, as well as
well published author and speaker. |

Phyllis Ciekot Glawe, DVM, MS, DACVIM -
Specialty of Oncology |

Dr. Ciekot is a clinical
oncologist at Veterinary Cancer Specialists at the Veterinary
Referral Center of Colorado Diplomate, American College of
Veterinary Internal Medicine, Specialty of Oncology. Dr Ciekot
did her veterinary medical training at Ohio State University,
her residency at North Carolina State and her residency at
Colorado State University. Dr. Ciekot has published many
articles on client counseling for cancer, tumors types, and
treatment of neoplasia. |

Teresa C. Defrancesco, DVM, ACVIM

Dr. DeFrancesco is an assistant
professor in cardiology and critical care at the College of
Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State since 1995. Dr.
DrFrancesco is boarded in internal medicine / cardiology and
is also boarded in Critical Care Medicine (ACVECC). Dr.
DeFrancesco’s research includes topics in Feline Heartworm
disease, Feline Hypertension, Feline Hypertrophic
Cardiomyopathy, Cardiac Troponin and Precongestive Failure
dogs with Mitral valve disease. |

Dennis Keith, DVM , Diploamte ACVR |
|
|
Dr. Keith is a native Arizonan.
He is a 1990 graduate of the University of Arizona and
obtained a DVM in 1994 from Colorado State University. After
practicing in Flagstaff for two years, he completed a
three-year residency in radiology at the University of
Pennsylvania. Dr. Keith served on the faculty for a year as
Lecturer and Alternative Imaging Fellow (also at the
University of Pennsylvania) where he advanced his training in
both ultrasonography and computed tomography (CT). He is
board-certified by the American College of Veterinary
Radiology (ACVR). |

Elizabeth Dunphy, DVM, AVECC |
|
|
Dr. Dunphy received her B.S. in
Animal Sciences in 1992 from the University of Vermont and her
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 from the University
of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Early on in
veterinary school, Dr. Dunphy developed a passion for
Emergency and Critical Care Medicine while working in the
Small Animal Intensive Care Unit. After graduation she
accepted a position as an Emergency Veterinarian in Tucson,
Arizona. In 1999 Dr. Dunphy made the decision to pursue
advanced training in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care
Medicine and began a 4- year residency program at the
University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary
Medicine. She became a diplomate of the American College of
Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2003. |

Clarke Atkins, DVM |
|
|
Clarke Atkins, DVM, is Professor
of Medicine and Cardiology at North Carolina State University.
A 1972 graduate of the University of California, Davis, Dr.
Atkins completed his internship at the Angell Memorial Animal
Hospital in Boston. He became board-certified by the American
College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in internal medicine
in 1978 and in cardiology in 1992. Dr. Atkins is known for his
research and teaching in small animal cardiology, having
authored more than 150 publications. He is also the author of
a multimedia interactive computer program in canine cardiology
and numerous textbook chapters. |

Lowell Ackerman, DVM ACVD |
|
|
Dr. Lowell Ackerman is a
board-certified veterinary specialist, an award-winning
author, an international lecturer, and a consultant in
veterinary practice management. He is a graduate of the
Ontario Veterinary College (Canada) and a Diplomate of the
American College of Veterinary Dermatology. In addition to his
veterinary training, he also holds an MPA from Harvard
University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a
Certificate in Veterinary Practice Administration from Purdue
University. Dr. Ackerman splits his time between clinical
dermatology specialty practice, and management consulting. He
is a Clinical Professor at the Tufts University Cummings
School of Veterinary Medicine and the Dermatology Course
Director, overseeing all student instruction in this
discipline. In addition to veterinary specialty practice, Dr.
Ackerman is a management consultant with Bizvet, Inc., dealing
with all aspects of practice management and administration,
from private practices, to specialty hospitals and non-profit
organizations. He also teaches business skills and practice
management at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary
Medicine.
Dr. Ackerman is the author of 77 books (including
“Five-Minute Veterinary Practice Management Consult”, “Canine
& Feline Dermatology”, “Management Basics for Veterinarians”,
“Pet Skin & Haircoat Problems,” “Business Basics for
Veterinarians”, “Handbook of Behavior Problems of the Dog
and Cat”, “The Genetic Connection”, “Dermatology for the Small
Animal Practitioner”, “Effective Veterinary Practice”,
“Practical Canine Dermatology”, and over 150 book chapters and
journal articles. He lectures extensively, on an international
basis.
Dr. Ackerman is a member of the American College of
Veterinary Dermatology, the Association of Veterinary Practice
Management Consultants & Advisors, the American Academy of
Veterinary Dermatology, the Veterinary Hospital Managers
Association, the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology,
the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the American
Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary
Medical Association. |
